甚麼是脊髓肌肉萎縮症?
這是脊髓內控制運動神經的前角質細胞退化而引致肌肉萎縮的疾病
脊髓性肌肉萎縮症 (spinal muscular atophy, SMA) 屬於人體染色體隱性遺傳疾病
，是因脊髓的前角運動神經元漸進性退化，造成肌肉逐漸軟弱無力、萎縮的一種疾病
1. 甚麼是運動神經細胞疾病 ?
這是負責肌肉運動的大腦細胞、腦幹細胞和脊髓前角細胞同時或局部壞死
, 而引致肌肉退化、萎縮、無力及不規律顫動和抽搐。
脊髓的橫切面，顯有位於中央部的灰質和位於周圍部的白質；
脊髓的頸部，灰質和白質都很發達。
灰質的每一半由前角和後角組成。前角內含有大型運動細胞，其軸突貫穿白質
頸部脊髓的前角特別發達，這裡的前角細胞發出纖維支配上肢肌肉。
後角內的感覺細胞，有痛覺和溫度覺的第二級神經元細胞，
並在後角底部有小腦本體感覺徑路的第二級神經元細胞體（背核）。
